Nini's Coffee Shop is the type of place you would find through word of mouth. My brother told me about it, as he used to frequent the place years ago. They have limited hours from early morning until 3PM. Their specialty is breakfast but the menu covers salads, burgers, sandwiches and so on. The place might be a bit tough to find, use the map.

Looks like this place hasnt changed in the last 50 years. They have the old counter stools, pictures off old stars, and knick knacks that have been collected over the years. I initially sat inside and took my pictures then moved out to the patio. It was a nice day outside and even better that I was going to be eating breakfast at 2 in the afternoon.

I ordered the home fries, short stack, 1 egg, bacon, and OJ.

OJ - I think it was fresh squeezed, little pulp.

home fries - fresh potatoes mixed with bell peppers and onions. Very light on the seasonings, had to put some salt, pepper, and tabasco. If you are eating alone, ask for the 1/2 plate. Its a big portion.

egg - scramble, nice and fluffy. For 1 egg, it must have been a VERY LARGE EGG.

bacon - 2 thick cuts of bacon, no complaints here. bacon is always good

pancake - short stack (2), this is outta control. The pancakes were cooked for Paul Bunyan. These are the largest pancakes Ive gotten for breakfast. They were thick, dashed with powered sugar, and smothered in butter. If you look at the picture 7 and 8, the pancakes are hanging off the edges of the plate.

My breakfast was excellent but there was just no way I could finish the entire serving. Nini's serves humongous portions and prices are much better than Stacks in Burlingame. You can tell this place has a lot of regulars. I overheard the waitresses calling their customers by name. You dont see that too often these days, goes to show you, great food, friendly service, cheap prices, you'll get a customer for life. It obviously works for Nini's Coffee Shop.

Italian Omelette & Short Stack

Italian Omelette had seasoned ground beef with mozzarella cheese with a dash of tomato/pizza sauce on top. It is a huge torpedo of food. And the short stack is bomb. Go easy on the home fries if you want to finish everything. This is my 'hood, t
