I initially pulled off the 92 to review Nachos mexican food but it looks like they have been replaced by Quiznos. I wasnt about to give up so I pulled into the Crystal Springs shopping center and found Papagayo mexican grill. Not sure how long its been there but always willing to give it a try.

I narrowed my order between the regular steak burrito and the roasted chicken with spanich rice and beans. I only had $10 on me so I went with the burrito and a pacifico. I sat outside on the patio and the waitress quickly brought chips and salsa. Shortly after that, my burrito was delivered.

chips - they taste like store bought chips. I cannot pinpoint the brand but is was just average

salsa - I wasnt impressed with the salsa. It was a tomato puree with some celantro. It was missing some of my favorite key ingrediants like HOT PEPPERS, onions, some lime, and seasonings. This type of salsa probably belongs on a roasted chicken.

burrito - tortilla was a little moist, rice was plentiful, black beans were whole, salsa was mild, and portion size was decent. The only thing missing was the taste. The meat was grilled but has no seasoning to it, rice didnt taste like it was cooked in a broth or onions, beans were tolerable - just your average black beans heated up. The only explanation I could come up with is maybe its one of those healthy burritos? If healthy style burritos appeal to you might enjoy Papagayo but Im more of a taqueria type person.
