Green Bakery was a quickie visit. Needed something sweet to finish off lunch and spotted this on the way to Just Burgers and Q. Located in the new T & H Camino Center, look for the big grand opening sign. I believe this bakery has Korean influenced pastries with a touch of euro. I spotted various sweets and aromatic breads. I almost ordered some donuts but figured that would be too boring. I choose mini-cream puffs and sweet bread.

cream puffs - I can never get enough of cream puffs these days. These ones are miniatures and filled with a chilled vanilla cream. The pastry shell tasted fresh but nothing along the lines of Beard Papa. They're 3 for $1 and I took 9 back to work. Everyone seemed to love them.

sweet bread (picture 5, 7, 8)- I don't know the real name of this bread but it was daaaaaammmm good. I noticed them on my way in and asked the lady if she could pull one from the tray. She packaged it in a nice plastic baggy. Bread was slightly warm and smelled wonderful. The flavor of the bread is kinda hard to explain. Almost hawaiian bread and shares the degree of sweetness. It's not exactly french bread but mimics the crisp outer shell. Not quite cornbread but has the properties of being very dense. This bread is easily a repeat order.

The lady behind the counter barely spoke English but more than willing to go the extra mile with communicating with me. She was extremely polite and with an attitude like hers, I would buy bread and pastries with pleasure. For the 9 mini-cream puffs and sweet bread, it only cost me $4. Asian bakeries are much different than your euro style bakery shops, so cruise in with an open mind and try some new things out.

Green Bakery's Revenge

After my 3-year-old grandson and I indulged in the unidentified goodies from Green Bakery, we both got sick! The only other stuff we ate that day was samples at Costco and no one else got sick, just us two who ate Green. So we won't be back. Sorry.

Banana, jelly roll, misc pastries

Not a friendly place. Standing helpless at the counter, we Caucasians were pointedly ignored. So we bought stuff without knowing what it was. The stuff was GREAT! Can't offer specifics, since they wouldn't talk to us or help tell us what it was.
