You'd think we'd learn our lesson by now by calling or looking up the restaurant hours. We drove 10 miles to a closed Indian restaurant in Santa Clara and proceeded to drive further down the street to discover Just Burgers and Q. Having heard no information and it's been some time since we've reviewed a burger/barbecue place, it didn't take too much convincing to make a visit.

Just Burgers and Q is a small restaurant in the same strip mall where Copenhagen Crown is located. We walked in around 12 noon and were the only ones there ordering. Burgers and BarBQ dominate the menu along with various sandwiches and salads. I ordered the classic burger with cheese and made it a combo meal for $7.83.

burger - sesame buns tasted decent but would have loved more grilling over the open flame. The burger is probably a 1/4lb patty of ground beef. The meat tasted on the lean side and is a grade higher than what you would get at fast food burger place. Seasonings was on the salty side but I do admire the cooking over an open flame. Along with the burger are onions, tomato, shredded lettuce, slice of american cheese, and their secret sauce (ketchup and mayo?).

The classic burger does an ok job of serving their burger. I think they could do better with their flame grill. If I had suggestions to hit the 8-9 range, you'll need to grind your own beef (preferably sirloin and/or chuck), it needs to smell like steak when you bite into it and cooked to order. I like my burgers medium. Ditch the white lettuce for green leaf and switch white onion for red.

potato sticks - aka..french fries. You average run of the mill french fries. Served hot and plenty to go with the meal.

I want to come back as the friendly owner was proclaiming his bbq ribs can't be touched. Bold words, I'll have to inform the barbecue club of this rib challenge. Other than that, if I was in the area and needed a burger fix, I'd give them another try. Portion size was on the smaller side so I'd want to double up on the patty.
