We were on our way to Fifela when we accidently found Sidedish Corner. It was by luck the parking spot we landed on was only for Sidedish Corner. Being too lazy to find another spot, we decided to check it out. Korean Bento box?? never heard of it. We walked in and the atmosphere had a family business feel to it.

With 2 tables and a couple of stools off to the side, this place looks more like a to go restaurant.

Im not too experienced with Korean food as Ive usually stuck with bbq. Today, I felt like trying something completely new, so I got the spicey korean ramen with a side of california rolls.

california rolls were pleasant for $3. It had this weird gel-like-vegetable. Cant really explain the flavor but was sweet and tasted like black licorice??? Im completely lost with Korean vegetables and gel stuff. If youve ever ordered a Korean dinner, they must bring out over a dozen plates with obscure looking vegetables.

The ramen was definitely spicey and tasty. It had a sunnyside egg underneath the ramen. The ramen tasted like package noodles you can get at the grocery store but Sidedish adds their own broth. Also in the soup were plenty of green onions.

Overall, I enjoyed my dining experience at Sidedish Corner and would probably go back to try another dish. If youre in the Santa Clara area and want to try a homecooked Korean meal, stop by Sidedish Corner.

We found Sidedish Corner while driving around randomly. We were fairly close to Filfela but decided against a rematch. After waiting a few minutes in line, I got the opportunity to order the Tofu soup. They were out of it. So I went with the rice and vegetables. A few minutes later a nice looking plate of food arrived. It was covered in meat. Oh well, I chalk that up to the language barrier. I picked the meat out and started eating. Despite previous bad experiences with Korean food, I was pretty impressed. It had some good flavor. Jason ordered a shrinkwrapped package of sushi and that actually was my favorite part of the meal. Anyway, back to my dish. It came with a little cup of hot sauce. I mixed that in, and it improved the dish. Overall I found it to be very tasty but a little pricey for what I was getting. The flavor didn't really blow me away. I would return again but not anytime soon.
