Terry has been on vacation for the last week and lately been doing lunches with Sean. I had a wish list request for a deli in Saratoga but failed to write the address down. I figured Saratoga was kinda small and little did I know I'd had to choose between 5 different deli spots. Confused with all the choices, we picked the smallest deli, Pat Smiths Delicatessen. Decorations have that country euro thing going with an outdoor garden patio. The menu shows your standard sandwich selections but I think the real treats are the sandwich specials. Most of the specials are on display in the deli case for your viewing pleasure. Seeing that the new york strip steak was medium rare, I ordered the steak sandwich on dutch crunch. When you include the drink, small fruit salad, the price will run you about $10. fruits (image 9) - small serving but fresh steak sandwich on dutch crunch (image 10) - the steak was sliced thin like roast beef. Parts were medium rare and warmed in a microwave. Toppings include dijon mustard, green leaf, tomato, and red onions. Steak was the best part of the sandwich and contained little fat but all the flavor. Bread was average and not too crunchy on the top to cause the infamous captain crunch mouth. Overall sandwich was above average. The outdoor patio was cool and everything but it was such a drag with all the flies buzzing around. It's kinda gross when flies are landing on your food. I guess move the trash cans further from the tables? Other than that, it was a nice lunch with a score between 7.5 to 8 but will bump to 8 for the healthy taste.
