We were running short on time and need something fast and cheap. On the way back from Frys, we stopped at Dairy Belle. I believe DB is a local bay area chain thats been around almost half a century. Catering to teenages and people looking for the fast food burger alternative, Dairy Belle serves a ok burger. Its not ground breaking but it doesnt break your wallet either.

For about $6-7, you can get a drink, fries, and burger

Fries - your average greasy fries

Burger - I can only guess where they get these but they tasted like the frozen beef patties you pickup at the market. Thats not to say they were bad, I mean these guys tasted a tad better than the well known burger places.

Toppings - ok, they put tons of mayo in my burger. I had to make 2-3 passes with my napkin. Kinda gross.

Bun - I couldnt tell if it was flour or the early stages of mold. I was too hungry at that point and continued to power my meal down

I will be the first to admit that Dairy Belle is a guilty pleasure for me. I knew this was going to be fast food tasting yet it served its purpose.

1. I was full
2. It was fast
3. It tasted better than a quarter pounder at you know where

Would I return? That depends, if I needed something fast and wanted a fast food burger alternative. Dairy Belle might fulfill your needs, its filled the stomachs of bay area locals for the last 47 years.

We were kind of in a hurry so stopped here at Dairy Belle, not quite sure if it was a chain or not. To our good fortune, it was just a local chain, so very jatbarable.

The non-meat selections are pretty darn slim here, so I just went with a Tuna Sandwich and a malt shake. It was fairly inexpensive and the food was prepared quickly - just what we needed this day.

I found the Tuna Sandwich to be fairly large (standard bread slices but stuffed pretty heavily). There was a lot of tuna and a lot of Mayo (perhaps too much mayo?)

The real winner, though, was the malt. I must say I enjoyed it better than the one I had at Vals Burger. No doubt it wasn't as high quality in the ingredients department, but it deifnitely tasted real good and finished off the meal nicely.

In the future, I would go to the Dairy Belle for sampling their ice cream and shakes, and only go for the food if I was real hungry.
