Faultline Brewery is suppose to be one of "THE" spots to eat/meet/drink. I guess you can say Faultline is where upper management eats while worker bees eat at St.Johns. I'm clueless about the whole history here and who knows how many countless tech ideas were conjured up during a marathon night of drinking. All that crap doesn't matter though if you're just looking for a good meal.

As with any brewery type restaurant, I try to stick with the basics like appetizers, sandwiches, and burgers. Those are the standards and normally easy to make. Keeping that in mind, I ordered a medium pepper-jack bacon burger with curly fries.

Large Stout - $4.75
Hamburger - $9.75
Pepper Jack - $1.25
Bacon - $1.25
Curly Fries - $0.50

Out of that list, the beer was the best. The receipt said "LARGE" as if beer is suppose to be served in anything less than a PINT.

My burger finally arrives and waiter runs off before I could say a word. Now, just looking at picture 8, did you notice the jack cheese on top of the bacon? Is it so hard to toss cheese on top of the burger patty so it could melt?

bun - lousy, wasn't even soft and tasted old. One trick you can use on old bread is toasting it. Bread sucks.

veggies - lettuce was 1 small piece and nearly white. tomato was ok.

bacon - best part of the burger

meat - I asked for medium and he brought out well-done. Look at the pictures, they don't lie. I would have sent it back but he disappeared for the longest time. I haven't limited time for lunch and tried my best to eat what I could. The meat was extremely dry with little grease leaking out of the meat. I don't recall any seasonings and you probably guess the burger was bland.

Faultline Brewery managed to serve me a burger that tasted worse than fast food restaurants. Carl's Jr is across the street and sells a cheaper and better tasting burger. Today's Faultline burger at $12, is the most overpriced and worst burger I've had this year if not the last 2 years.

The only thing from keeping me from giving Faultline Brewery a 5.5 is because the beer was good. That's it.

I used to go here YEARS ago when I worked in the area, and always knew it was a popular place, so it was one I had wanted to review on Jatbar for years. Finally got my chance this friday when we were in the area and decided to stop by. Thankfully it wasn't too busy and we had no time getting a table immediately. The grounds are beautiful, with a nice lake, large shady trees, and a very peaceful feeling. The interior, while a bit aged feeling, is kept up nicely. The menu was a bit sparse and I had a hard time finding something I was really in the mood for. If you care for something outside of the burgers and sandwiches, it might be tough - though to their credit they do have a decent selection of various items. I finally settled on the Soft shelled crab sandwich.

The wait was quite long. For the waiter to place our order. For the food to arrive. For the check to arrive. Combined with the somewhat high prices for food on the menu, I was already thinking about deducting some points.

The food arrived and presentation was just average. Mine didn't look so bad - not so average-looking as Jasons burger did. I felt pretty bad for him immediately.

The soft-shelled crab was tender though not too juicy. It was pretty good, but then again its hard for me not to enjoy crab. The sandwich was pretty spartan aside from the thick pieces of crab within. It had bacon (which I had known this before so I could have requested it not be included)- as well as your basic veggie items within. I had no problem finishing it. It didn't make me feel fantastic knowing I spent over $15 for this sandwich, but it wasn't bad. The included pasta, while fresh tasting, wasn't terribly exciting. I managed to finish it though - I was pretty hungry.

After an incredibly long wait for the check, we finally paid and got out of there. Neither of us was 100% happy with our experience but I know that I got the better deal on this food. As we drove out of the parking lot, Jason was looking longingly at the Carl's Jr. . . .
