Gumba's Cafe review is loooong overdue. I had originally thought that the Gumba's over on Stevenson was the same one on Murphy street, it is not so. The food and menu are totally different. The Gumba's on Murphy street is a combination of an Italian and pizza restaurant. Although they serve a number of italian dishes, this review should only reflect the pizza.

We opted for the medium pepperoni and sausage pizza. Its my 1st time visiting and I already like the place. The people working there are so friendly and Im guessing that 3 different people said Hi to us. Im not sure if they knew I was reviewing, I try to be discreet when I take my pictures but sometimes I get lazy. Jose, seems to think otherwise since service is relatively better when Im around.

Back to the food, pizza was served in roughly 15 minutes. If you're short on lunch, try calling ahead as the pizza is well worth the wait.

crust - cooked all the way through, no raw dough to be seen, slice able to hold up without flopping over. crust didnt crack but it was almost like a french bread. if you know my pizza reviews, if I dont eat the crust, I dont like it. At Gumbas, I finished the entire thing.

sauce - they must use this sauce on their pasta cuz its so damm good. tangy and flavorful.

cheese - enough cheese to go around, exellent quality, just the right amount of mixture for the pizza.

toppings - oh man, the sausage is the real deal. None of those cocoa puff looking frozen sausage balls, its sausage links cut up over a pizza. pepperoni was good too but I tend to like the tops a bit burned and crunchy. Other than that, for these 2 toppings, its exellent.

For a medium pizza it was pretty damm big. I wonder if they made a mistake because at any other pizza place, it would be a large size. Gumba's Cafe serves high quality pizzas and I wonder how their other dishes are. I dont know what I will do on my next visit, its going to be hard to pry my hands away for their exceptional pizzas.

Outstanding! Shrimp exploded in my mouth, and the cream sauce was to die for. Wonderful folks and very friendly place.
