Agents Eddie and Jay accompany me on this trek to Pho Nam - a place I have been wanting to go but rarely get an opportunity because of Jasons aversion for Pho sanitary standards. haha. Anyway, we arrive here, and the place is packed. Really jumping. Hmm, things are looking up.

The business looks like a converted Hobees or something which is odd for a Pho place with an A frame room, etc, but it doesn't matter at all. We're here for the Pho.

We are shown a table after a short wait. There is plenty of Pho selection. I go with the large Steak Pho - as I didn't see a non-meat Pho selection. The steak is at least easy to pick out. And sometimes I will even sample it.

Jay goes with the Vietnamese eggroll thing along with his soup.

The pho arrives lightning quick - a speed that might even have put Pho To Chau to shame. Which reminds me, I have since gone to Pho To Chau a few times since my 9 rating review and I must say that in the past year or so the quality has slipped there. I need to go again for a review round and update my review. Judging by the reduced crowds there, I seem to think that others agree with me.

Back to Pho Nam, the Pho looks delicious. The broth is perfect, the noodles are soft but not too much so. The steak was on its way to being cooked, but I pulled quite a bit out. Presentation was great, mixture with onions, etc was also excellent.

All three of us were mighty impressed with our Pho here at Pho Nam. Even agent Eddie, the hardest to please. We think its our new contender for best Pho. I need another visit to make sure of course.

Jay said the rolls were just OK and wouldn't order them again. Come here for the Pho and you will leave satisfied.

Its been a crazy week and I needed to escape from reality. I met up with my culinary buddy for a drink at a dive, turned respectable bar called Bogarts on Wildwood in Sunnyvale. A few drinks in and we realized we needed some food! Next door was Pho Nam #4. Cool, my husband has bragged that this is the best Pho place, even over Pho Queen. Well see about that!

We walk in and are immediately greeted by a nice gentleman who let us pick a table. All the booths were filled already with a melting pot of patrons. As soon as we sit we are handed menus and beverage orders are placed. Hot tea and water arrives quickly and we are asked for our food order. My companion needed more time to order so we ask for fried rolls. They arrive in 3 minutes hot and fresh! They were delicious and not the store bought kind. My only suggestion would be to add more ginger, as the flavor could improve with that perkiness. My friend wanted to try something different and opts for the beef stew over rice, I go with #6: Tai Chin Nam (Flank, Lean brisket and Flank). Pho bowl are huge so I order a small. We barely had time to finish the rolls when our food arrives.

My bowl of Pho was excellent! Just enough tender noodles, plenty of beef, not too fatty. Fresh green onions and cilantro were plentiful on top. The best part? The broth rich and deep in flavor, perfectly balanced with that distinctive clove taste. Yum best bowl of Pho I have had in ages. I only added some siracha for heat.

This location is in an obscure place, in a 7-11 and liquor store strip mall. There is additional parking in back but at night Id hesitate a little about it. There are 4 location for Pho Nam. For a Pho restaurant they were clean and tidy. Even the restroom was clean and updated. The mint green booths and chairs with basic white interior isnt the most eye pleasing, but everything is well maintained and CLEAN. No sticky, yucky anything. Even the silverware was ready to use. (no need to wipe it down here Terry!)

The bill ran around $13 Cheap, delicious, satisfying and sure enough, the best bowl Ive had recently. I can only recall as memorable an experience as the Pho place on Capital Ave near 101 in SJ.

My husband was right best Pho weve had!

Pho

I had a piece of metal from a scrubber in my pho. I took it out, ignored it and kept eating cause the pho was good.
