Tasty Subs and Pizza resides in the blandless community of Sunnyvale. We must be going to all the wrong spots? Whats even more odd are all these places are packed during lunch rush? Is there nothing to eat in Sunnyvale that people resort to eating below average food? You are almost better off going to a fast food joint.

For my order today, I went with the small pastrami on white roll. The roll was moist but it had no flavor??? What the heck was I eating? Veggies are standard...something you can get at Subway or Togos. Now for the biggest disappointment was the pastrami. When I think pastrami, I envisioned peppered oily fatty mouth watering meat. The stuff I got was some dried health tasting reddish pink meat...I wanted to cry. I wanted to clog my artery and recieved pastrami light. Oh boy....what a wasted meal for $6.

I cant recommend coming back for the pastrami but maybe the pizzas taste better?

OK, I'm convinced. Sunnyvale is VERY thin on good restaurants. Don't know why it is, just something I've noticed. Continuing the tradition of lackluster eateries in Sunnyvale, we went to Tasty Subs and Pizza. Located in the same parking lot area as St. Johns, it shares many other similaries with St. Johns. Not only does it serve food, it also carries a nice selection of beers. And its got sports on the TV as well. The only difference is this place serves better food. Slightly.

I ordered the Egg Salad Cheese sandwich on Sourdough roll. I also ordered a medium fountain drink. Total was about $6.00. So how was it? Well I found the sourdough roll to be a bit tough to say the least. The quality of the rest of the sandwich was on par or a little less compared to Togos. And it cost more.

I think if you went here after work with some coworkers for some discount brews and split a pizza or something you may be in business. Something tells me they do the sandwiches to appeal to the lunch crowds, but their main deal is after-work socializing. Nothing wrong with that. Except Jatbar is about the food. And when I rate TSandP for the dining experience, its a notch above St Johns.

Pizza

Thier pizza is excellent. The red sauce is great balance between spicy and sweet. They also have garlic cream sauce and pesto sauce which I don't get as often because I love the red sauce so much!
