I had the biggest breakfast this morning so my entire appetite was not dedicated to Thai Pepper. Im surprised I even ordered something but for the love of jatbar, I gotta do what I gotta do. I went small and went with the Royal Prawns and a bowl of rice. Sounds like a main course but its located in the appetizer section.

Thai Pepper might be the winners for the fastest service in the bay area. We arrived at the table that had 2 place settings but there were 3 of us. By the time I sat down, they were already fixing my plate, pouring water, and delivering small bowls of soup. NOW THAT IS FAST SERVICE!

To be honest with the soup, I have no idea if it was chicken or pork or chicken flavored tofu. Its not the typical thai soup we are used but more of an americanized chicken brothy soup with veggies.

My Royal Prawns Rolls were prawns wrapped in egg roll wrappers with a meat type mixture in there. It was greasy but what could I expect, its a deep fried item. I thought the wrapper was on the heavy side but there was enough meat and prawns to taste in every bite. Presentation was pleasing and portion size for the appetizer can be used as a main dish. Overall it was enjoyable.

I would like to give Thai Pepper a higher score for their speedy service and eye-catching atmosphere but the Royal Prawns were rated somewhere between ok and good.

Thai Pepper was submitted to Jatbar as a wishlist request, comparing it as a level above Thai Basil. I went with medium-to-high expectations, and found myself only a little bit disappointed. This is still a REALLY good Thai restaurant, especially the interior and nice menu selection. I think the food however was a little bit on the greasy side. And my particular dish was not prepared exactly how I specified. All in all, though, I can't really complain as I finshed everything on my plate and enjoyed it.

We sit down and before our waters are poured, a bowl of soup is placed in front of us. Right on, now this is service! The soup seem to be a tofu/pork mixture so isn't for everyone. I sampled it however and found it to be average. Nothing too special for me. I placed my order for a Thai Iced Tea and a Tofu/Vegetable dish (last pic up above) and specified that it be thai spicy. The tea came out quickly but the main dish took a long time to arrive. Not overly long but enough that we started talking about the slowdown in service quality.

When it arrived, I was pleased with the presentation but instantly could tell that there was a lack of spiciness. Oh well. I dug in and still enjoyed the dish. It was highly flavorful and mixed with moist rice was truly something that I finished quickly. There was a lot of oil in the dish compared to other Thai places I've reviewed, however, which didn't sit well with my desire for a healthier meal. All in all, though, its an above average Thai restaurant with a nice atmosphere and good selection of dishes that will be sure to please anyone who visits.

We had plastic in our food!

We had big plastic in our curry and the manager forced us to pay 18% gratuity. when we refused, the boss came out in the parking lot and told us he has seen our faces and should never come again. WOW! HATED their service and despised the plastic!!
