Thanks to Angie for pointing us to a restaurant rich Fair Oaks Plaza. There's 10 different restaurant in a relatively small shopping center. Give us some time and we'll have majority of the restaurants on the site. When Tia Juana was first described to me, I thought it was going to be a taqueria joint and somewhat surprised to find a sit down restaurant with tons of people inside. This place was going off.

We lucked out with a table and our waitress was quick to drop off chips and salsa as well as take our drink orders. Minutes later, she took our lunch orders and I'm not kidding about the delivery of the food, it was 5-8 minutes served. Now that is extremely fast.

Drew ordered a carne asada burrito, Mark went with chicken burrito, Chris opted for 2 beef tacos with beans and rice, and I decided on a chicken enchilada and beef taco.

My beef taco was incredibly greasy. Do you remember the old school Taco Bell tacos where the grease would leak out both ends and soak though the shell? Well, Tia Juana taco was that times 2. The ground beef would've been so much better if it had less grease. The taco shell was legit and made in house, not those pre-made weak ones at the super market. There's potential on being a good taco but not today. For $2.50, it's almost forgivable.

Chicken Enchilada was your standard corn tortilla with shredded chicken topped with a red sauce and cheese. There was some spillage of grease from the cheese and thank god it wasn't as much as the beef taco. Overall, it's worth ordering.

Both Drew and Mark thought there burritos were 8.5 quality while Chris was disappointed with his 2 tacos, complained the beef was greasy while meat had an odd tasting flavor.

The beef taco and chicken enchilada rate in the 7 range. I tried Mark's chicken burrito and that tasted better than my ordered food. I didn't like the whole sour cream and lettuce deal in the burritos. For $6.25, the prices compete with local taquerias but the big difference is you get sit down service with a healthier approach and beautiful plates. The service was flat out awesome, super fast and our waitress very friendly. I'd make a return visit.

RETURN VISIT for Jason! 4/29/2008 - 8.5 Rating: Thanks to Scot for convincing me to making a return visit to Tia Juana. I ordered the fish tacos like he suggested and wow o wow were they really tasty. The plate comes with rice and beans, your choice of tortillas, and red snapper cooked on a flat grill. Fish wasn't overcooked, thin and flaky. Had a flavorful orange sauce that brings the dish to another level. I would have bumped to a 9 but the fish taco plate rings up a pricey $12. Would I order again? Heck yeah!
